Flickr Finds: David's Beautiful Desk

Minimal mid century modern. I wish I could keep my desktop this clean all the time, but more importantly, I wish I had an Eames Aluminum Group management chair propping me up against an iMac and LED desk lamp. Flickr user electronymous717 has managed to put together a fully functional home office in a neat and tidy package. This desk also has a nice hidden feature....

A popup Wacom tablet. Nicely sloped from an ergonomics perspective and only there when you need it, invisible when you don't.

That desk is fabulous in its simplicity. And David is a glutton for happiness. I note that in the series of pictures he has upgraded to a new aluminum iMac from an older white plastic one, and he has upgraded his sound to the JBL Creature. I also spy a MacBook in one of the cubbies. Also that is either an Eames or an ersatz Eames. Either way wonderful, especially in a mid-brown. Well done, David!

Yeah, but he's got 4 speakers. That's just weird.

kimmiller, thanks for posting those links. The Miami one seems a tad OTT, but the San Francisco home is wonderful in its simplicity. The simple Jacobsen (jake) chair doesn't look comfy for long sessions. Perhaps an armless Eames would be better. Still, quite stunning.

I think that's an IKEA Vika Amon table. I just assembled one for my kids and their new iMac. Their work setup is better than mine.

Thanks Guys for the comments.

The aluminum iMac is mine and the white one was David's but, now he has upgraded to an aluminum one as well. They're on opposite sides of the room. We have since rearranged them and I'll post those on my Flickr pages this weekend.

The desk tops are hollow core doors from the hardware store for $19 that have been stained.

The speakers are the JBL Invaders and now they are setup so, two are in front and two behind.
