We cannot stress the importance of building a calm surrounding for your hectic workspace. It helps to be able to instantly cut working tension by looking up at a stellar view. Good advice for anyone, but especially for university students getting back into the groove...
Even if your desk can't overlook a gorgeous urban garden scene, it's never too late to think about the view from your desk.
Even in the most seemingly un-glamorous of situations—a college dorm room—you can still get a vista view of your school's historic landscape and architecture. (Bonus: A great view will distract from that less-than-sexy dorm-issue furniture.)
This Flickr user posted this image of his desk perched in front of his window at the University of Washington in Seattle that shows a birds-eye view of campus. It's the perfect spot to crack open a Red Bull and take a breather from an all-nighter!

wow, my old dorm room didn't have a window that big or nice.
and the windows only opened a few inches because I guess nyc students like to jump out their windows? we weren't allowed on the balcony on the top floor either :(

When I was at Bowling Green my windows didn't open at all... but that was offset by the fact I was on the 8th floor and the windows were the entire west facing wall on my room: two 4'x5' windows. Watching the sun set was quite spectacular.

we had a huge windows we could open, i guess WMU doesn't care about Jumpers.
Nice big window with a scenic view of a parking lot and a dumpster... So romantic when the light from the setting sun bounced off of the dumpster, almost intoxicating (or that might have just been the dumpster itself...)
