apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

The thing that I don't think I have ever seen mentioned is the shear amount of energy that gets used just keeping a set-up like this humming along. At what point are multiple monitors hooked to multiple towers and two laptops all (apparently) running simultaneously for a single user simply wasteful rather than productive?

As someone who worked in graphic design industry for several years, I'd have to say operating two computers at once can be very useful in certain applications (processing images; converting proofs into high res PDFs, rendering 3D, etc). Certainly a large use of energy, no doubt, but the setup above is for two people.

WOW I am so relieved to know I am not the only person with a Deer head mounted over my Dual Monitor Apple Rig, and that they have the same wire/cable management issues the rest of us face ....Thanks ( photo 2 )

this reminds me of the commercial of careerbuilder.com if not monster.com, where the executive has a deer head as a focal point of his office. it turns out its a full deer and the rest is on the office of an employee on the other side of the wall. i don't understand how people can use macs for 3d modeling/rendering. also, macs are so plain and boring. i used to like the design, but lately its been boring me.
