Saarinen's Tulip table is obviously a favorite of ours here at Apartment Therapy, and an iconic design that is instantly recognizable. So much so that it has inspired electronics like the KLH Model Twenty Plus and has even been used as the table of choice for a high tech Google projector table. Not to be left out, good 'ol Canadian Electrohome also produced something called the Smarties turntable in the 70's. Why Smarties?
Because the marketing material described it as the multi flavored stereo. We don't really follow either. Anyways, it kind of looks like an original Weber BBQ to us, but we could just as easily see this in a pair in front of a DJ at a swanky party.

I'm not a DJ, so I'm not too sure whether or not this is a realistic record player. It is definitely cool though.

it wasn't meant for djing. this was back in the 70's (60's too I think) and it was just for home listening.
it's a belt drive model. djs use direct drive models (usually technics exclusively)
