FIRE Coffee Table Lights Up a Cocktail Party

080409_tf_firetable1.jpgWe've been seeing more and more chimney-less indoor fireplaces lately. Whether you're looking for something permanent but easy to install or something super temporary (hello renters!), theres a solution out there for you. But if you don't have any space available for a fireplace, think about replacing your coffee table with one of this variety...

080409_tf_firetable2.jpgNot for the slim-in-pocket, this unique furniture solution, called "FIRE," was designed by German Axel Schaefer and retails for around $4,000 to $10,000, depending on the finish of the table (ebony high gloss for €3,890 [$5,571], colored for €3,000 [$4,296] and natural stone for €6,900 [$9,882]).

What you get for that is a cool and modern a-symmetrical high pressure laminate table that comes integrated with a bio-ethanol burning fireplace. It's durable and green and oh-so-chic—but who can afford this stuff?
