Plantbot Looks Steampunk, Acts Creepy

102208_tf_plantbot_1.jpgWe recently picked up some of those $1.99 bamboo stalks at Ikea. The reason for the impromptu purchase was the possibility of finding a solution to an ever-lasting problem: We want plants in the house to infuse color and life, but our two black thumbs can't keep anything alive outside of ourself and the dog. The bamboo has been a great burst of green, but we're thinking about getting a real plant now. In order to not kill it, maybe we should get the Plantbot, the plant stand with built-in solar sensors that walks around your house finding sunlight. Then again, to avoid nightmares, I might keep looking. Creepy animation of the Plantbot in action after the jump...

Ehhhhuggghhh... yuck. We'd hate to come across that Plantbot on a late-night trip to the kitchen.

The Web site for the Plantbot has no price or delivery date, so enjoy your sleep while you can.

This would totally freak out my cats and probably me. What does it do at night when there is no sunlight? Wander around aimlessly?
