Dear AT:HT,
I have a great outlet plug that lies flat against the wall instead of sticking out. I want more and have no idea where mine came from in the first place. I've looked everywhere with no luck. Does anyone out there know where I can find this?

Anne-
We searched as well, and the best we could come up with is this GE Polarized Wallhugger with three receptacles. It's available from anywhere from Ace Hardware to Kmart, and can cost as low as $.95.
It seems to function in the same manner, but perhaps it's not what you are looking for. Anyone seen Anne's flat plug in your web or real-life travels?
Thanks for the question!
The second photo I sent in isn't shown here but the plug part is on a hinge so it's flexible and lies flat to the wall. I have so many different plugs that are bulky and hate them. Please, someone tell me you know where this flat plug can be purchased!

I bought a plug *exactly* like you show at a dollar store in Japan. That doesn't really help you, though... sorry!

anne, I have this exact object!
Bought it a few months ago at a local hardware store on Amsterdam and around 77th Street. They actually didn't have the kind of plug that I wanted, so I settled on this hinged, flat, kind. I think they had lots more, they were in a bin on the wall on the right, in back of the store. Not that cheap, if I remember (but probably under $3).

I am hoping to find something similar but in a grounded 3-prong version... If anyone has seen it in a US store please post!

I'm heading for Amsterdam and 77th!! Thank you so much. I've been looking for over a year.

anne, let me know if you find what you need. It's on the east side of Amsterdam, and they also sell paint.
spiffy, I've never seen a 3-prong version. The best I think you could do would be to get a cord with a right angle plug, which hugs the wall socket and takes up less space. I found extension cords like this at the Manhattan Home Depot, marked something like "for small apartment spaces"! (They're nowhere on their website, though.)
