Good Questions: Wireless Home Theater PC Keyboard

unplggd031008-logitech01.jpg

Dear Unplggd,

I am in the middle of setting up my Home Theater PC and looking for a wireless way to control it. Ideally it would be a combination keyboard and touchpad for convenience and easy storage. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Isaac

Thanks for the question Isaac. The first suggestion that came to mind was the Logitech diNovo Mini. This miniature keyboard and combination touch and directional pad seems like the perfect solution for the living room. One caveat, if your HTPC happens to be a Mac, the Logitech site does not list OSX as being supported.

Anyone else have suggestions for Isaac?

I recently picked up the Logitech Cordless MediaBoard Pro. This is actually made for the PS3, but it also works with a PC. It's relatively inexpensive for a bluetooth keyboard. And because it's bluetooth, I don't have to worry about the range being too short. I also like the touchpad, slim profile, and piano black facade (matches my PS3 and Samsung TV).

If you don't mind not having an integrated track pad, the current Apple wireless keyboard is great. We use it in our home theater with our mac mini (and a wireless mighty mouse), and it works perfectly.

I have this keyboard for my Mac Mini HTPC set up, and it works great. Someone on @mazon posted a comment with video of it working in OSX as proof.

It's great. I used to constantly drop keyboards/mice and break them. This fits in perfectly with my other remotes, and is the coolest looking keyboard I've ever seen.
