Green Idea? Solar Birdhouse

031109 solarbird.jpgNow I'm no bird keeper. In fact the last memory I had of handling birds was as a young child thinking that my pet love birds needed to get out of their cage so that they could take a walk. An open window quickly ended that fiasco, and needless to say there was no bird walking from that day on. Maybe if they had a stylish eco friendly birdhouse to come back to I would have never lost them? One with a glowing beacon of a perch that was completely self sufficient?

Well this concept from Oooms is definitely the most high tech of any modern bird feeder we have seen in the past, but does anyone know if will actually attract birds or just scare them away?

Slapping PV panels onto a product that doesn't require electricity is about as far from "green" as it gets.

Bird houses with perches outside just encourage predators.
