Green Cuisine by Philips: The World's Most High Tech and Ecofriendly Kitchen

2008_10_17-philips-kitchen-.jpgAs much as Philips is known for TV's and home electronics, they are also very active in conceptual integrated home tech and lighting environments. Most recently they exhibited the ambient experience concept suite at the Fairmont in Singapore and now they have brought the high tech kitchen to Moscow.

2008_10_17-philips-2.jpgThe entire kitchen design revolves around a table that includes all the cooking, cleaning and disposal elements. Slide your fingers along a touch sensitive strip on the table to preset the temperature of the water coming out of the tap. Place your pot on the surface and the heating element comes through the countertop. You can even cool your wine by placing it on the counter top. Finally, compost your kitchen scraps under the table and use the compost to grow herbs for cooking. How's that for a nice green circle.

Of course, there is the obvious risk of burning your hands and clothes, but what's a little risk when you have a kitchen as cutting edge as this. Not quite feeling the purple mood lighting though.

You wouldn't burn your hand if it were an induction range top.
