Green Gadgets: The Guardian's Top Ten

Not ready to give up your gadgets? Adam Vaughan at The Guardian has compiled a list of eco-friendly gadgets that allow you to keep your gadget-addiction going strong. We see a few products we've already featured here, including the USBCell, the Reware Solar Bag, and the Asus EcoBook.

2007-08-30-intellipanel.jpgBut two new items caught our attention, the IntelliPanel and the Tefal Quick Cup. The IntelliPanel is a power strip that is intended for use with a computer and connected peripherals. It automatically detects when the computer is on and off, powering off the other items when the computer power is shut off.

2007-08-30tefal_quickcup.jpgThe Quick Cup is a well-designed device that provides almost instant boiling water, saving you both time and electricity when compared to using a hot pot. Given that a typical hotpot uses 3000 watts and several minutes to boil water, this little gadget could potentially save a lot of power. Obviously, both of these items are made for UK power outlets, but we're on the lookout for similar US models. Let us know if you've seen something similar in the comments.
