Green Ideas: The Ovetto Recycling Egg

100808_rg_Ovetto.jpgThe Ovetto Recycling Egg is an object that is supposed to meet the needs of domestic waste separation and help us recycle better. The Ovetto Recycling Egg is the brainchild of Italian interior designer and architect Gianluca Soldi. You might just ask what it is, and we'd have to say that it's a recycling bin.

Basically, the Ovetto is a garbage bin with different compartments, that allows you to separate waste from recyclable materials. Each of the different compartments has holes to allow air flow. Some people just don't like those big bins that come from municipalities, and would like something better designed for their homes. The Ovetto is just that. It's made out of recycled polypropylene and is currently available.

What we like about this recycling bin is its look. It looks modern and would fit into any modern themed design. It also looks futuristic, like a garbage bin from space. However, it does cost $250 and we think that you could probably create your own waste separation system for a lot cheaper.
