Memorex ReNew - Green Electronics Line?

2007_09_25 memorex-renew.jpg

A green line of electronics. With packaging made of recycled cardboard and the electronics composed of recyled plastics, this is definitely a step in the right direction. Proceeds from the sale of Memorex ReNew products even go towards planting trees.

We just wish it was from a name more widely associated with high quality electronics than Memorex. Sony, Pioneer, Yamaha? Who knows, maybe this line will be the first step in changing our perception of Memorex.

Visit Memorex ReNew to find out more.

I just saw these at Target last night and was actually pretty impressed. Who needs a name brand alarm clock anyway? The product styling is great compared to most items on the shelf.

I applaud the green element of it, but I'm not impressed with the look of the products.

Hate to rain on the parade, but there's no such thing as green electronics. Eliminating lead isn't the big deal companies are making it out to be.

Memorex isn't doing it to be green, they're doing it because it's required.

There is still a huge witches-brew of toxics that goes into the making of electronics.

Let features and value for the dollar be the key purchasing guides, not meaningless marketing spin like this.

I wish AT would do their homework, so stuff like this wouldn't get posted, because it's very bogus.

I have over 30 years in the electronics industry so I think I'm qualified to say this. ;->
