Resleeve: Recycled CD Case/Sleeve

2008-01-15resleeve.jpg

If not everyday, every few days we check up on Green as a Thistle's daily pledge to do something greener and keep it up for the duration of the year she's committed to making greener moves. Day 318, aka January 12th, Vanessa, found some great alternatives to CD jewel cases that are 100% recycled. This move was part of her as part of her no-new-plastic pledge. Pictured above are the Resleeve recycled CD case, and they're really reasonably priced to boot.

The Resleeves are sold by the Sustainable Group, and are only $16 for 50 sleeves. That's only $.32 each--and the sleeve takes up far less room on your shelf than a jewel case does.

2008-01-15replay.jpgAccording to the site, Resleeve "is made of a rigid 16pt recycled bending chip board and has a round die-cut hole in the center to view the front of the disk. The back is solid, embossed with the message "RESLEEVE 100% Recycled". RESLEEVE is made from 100% Recycled Fibers (56% Post Consumer Recycled / 44% Post Industrial Recycled). Great for storing, protecting or used as a mailing envelope for your CDs. Perfect for the Band or the board room."

And if you need room for liner notes or a second CD, check out Replay, pictured above, which can hold either and go for $32 for 50. Also available are labels for the Reply holders, CD labels, and various stickers as well.

This is a link for a sort of origami paper cd case.
Just use the back of some old printout. This won't protect your cd against throwing it on the floor but its fine for organizing cds.

That price hurts but they are easier on the eye than jewel cases.
