Samsung Releases Phone Made of Bioplastic

071108_sz_samsungecophone.jpg Man, why does Asia always get all the rad phones? Maybe we can get Range to buy us Samsung's new line of "Eco-Phones"? The W510, only available in Korea, is the first phone made using corn-based bioplastics and is free of harmful leads, mercury, and cadmium. The F268, sold in China, plus all its accessories are free of BFRs (Brominated Flame Retardant) or PVC. The F268 also has an alarm that beeps when the battery's topped off, so you don't leave it plugged in and drawing juice.

Now before you get excited like we did about the green color of the green phones you should know that this is a Photoshop of the W510 done by the bloggers at Core77. It got us thinking though. Why didn't Samsung play off its phones' green features and have the phone something other than black? We think they should take Core77's cheeky manipulation into consideration.

Photos of the actual products after the jump...
