Top Five Eco Book Bags

2007-08-28ecobookbags.jpg

The month of August is coming to a close--and pumpkin spice lattes are back at Starbucks--so that means that school isn't far around the corner. Check out these five eco options over at Inhabitat for book bags that will put you at the head of the class for being green, and head of the class for design (well, only 3 of them really will, but the 4th could do it if your friends understand that geek=cool).

Clockwise from the left (get more detail and reviews of the bags over at Inhabitat:
• VOLTAIC SOLAR BAGS, $199-$250
• JUICE SOLAR TOTES, $199
• RED FLAG RECYCLED SAIL BAGS, $198
• FEUERWEAR FIRE HOSE BAGS, $108
• BAUMM RECYCLED ADVERTISEMENT BAGS, $30 and up

How about the entire Osprey ReSource series, made from 70% recycled materials? They're solid backpacks from a pack maker, which is what I'd rather have than a one-off design from someone who doesn't typically make packs. Of course, because they look like regular backpacks, they don't allow you to broadcast to the world that you're using a recycled product.
