Google recently updated its RSS reader's look. We don't like it any more than what they had before. There's just too much going on with all the little modular squares within squares. That said, we were psyched when Design Milk pointed out the Helvetireader. This free browser add on is a userscript that pares down Google Reader to the bare essentials.
Since we like looking at our feeds in expanded view, this program, which focuses on expanded views, is perfect. If you're a wiz with CSS you can personalize the add-on as much as you'd like. Plus, who doesn't love reading stuff in Helvetica?
