Dez over at Ikea Hacker admits that he hasn't "really done anything revolutionary here," but the results speak for themselves: The real way to keep your wired-up media center from looking visually cluttered is to take it up off the floor.

This Besta shelf height extension unit with adjustable shelves ($80 new from Ikea, but this one was had for the "As-Is" price) is mounted to the wall with all of the wiring from the TV to the AV components happening inside the wall between studs.
