Solar Powered Air conditioner

So obvious. Considering that every summer seems to carry warnings of power outages attributed to an overloaded power grid, it is nice to see that the cause of using air conditioning is also being used to power it. Solcool has a hybrid air conditioning system that they claim will have a 75% savings over conventional AC units of the same capacity.

Not large enough or designed to cool an entire house, this application is best suited for smaller spaces...but you will still need to find a place to put a solar panel.

I love this idea, really I do but at 6k and only able to cool a room, maybe two, I cannot imagine a timeline that would allow the buyer to reap the much touted rewards.

Too bad.

ya know, it boggles my mind (well, not really) how cities haven't taken advantage of technology. did you know at mit they solar paint on buildings & have paved the parking lots w/ solar material to power dorms? it's insane not to use it. course, it would mean we'd be paying less to certain companies.

silly silly

This is a technological paradox... it's not a technological imoposibility but it remains a paradox. I would like to try this, it's all attractive to me because I don't get to spend any electric power.
