Extravagant Gentleman's Club Office In Manchester

031209_an_manchester.jpgThe architects and designers at SHH were lookin' for something different than your standard grey filing cabinets and florescent office lighting. So they approached the project with intentions of creating a members-only environment while maintaining the basic elements of work, and created something of a mix between a lounge for the upper class and a 21st century high-end modern office. More pictures, after the jump.

031209_an_manchester2.jpgFabricated from the original structure of a Georgian townhouse of former stables and garage buildings, the Manchester property in London was transformed into a contemporary dream office. And in it, you have tons of clever ideas that makes use of space wisely, maximizing communication between employees and creating room for ideas to be freely distributed.

For example, in the main picture above, the desks are configured in a manner that keeps everyone talking - instead of your standard cubicle config that places everyone's backs towards each other.

031209_an_manchester3.jpgAll wiring was all well-thought out before wall knockdowns began, so any spectacular or extra-fancy detail (like the beautiful chandelier seen in the first photo) was left to be admired.

031209_an_manchester4.jpg031209_an_manchester5.jpgSince the building was intended for video conferencing as well, the breakout spaces were still included in the space. However, with a smart projection system and wire management, everything feels streamlined and controlled. Note the sexy flush mounted LCD in the main conference room.

031209_an_manchester7.jpgFinaly, some extra attention to detail to landscape lighting keeps the space vibrant even at night. So while you're ending your workday like any other worker, what you leave behind still feels like a festive place to be the next day.

I think it's the squareness of the wood panels that makes that look more modern.

I love that paneled room. It makes me want to sip scotch and read something.

I think the whole set up is stunning, unique and very flashy looking. It looks like a 22nd century manchester hotel, nice.
