Facebook's Snazzy New HQ Unveiled

Built from a former 1960s laboratory, Facebook's brand spankin' new HQ in Palo Alto designed by Studio O+A is something to behold. Open floor plans, a skate park, and retro modern furniture around every corner, their offices seem to capture the spirit that is Facebook; an endless stream of social media interaction and design. Heck, they're so industrial they even decided to include a crane table right in the middle of their cafe area...

Not that we have any problems working from home, but man does this lovely renovation get our jealousy meter going.

Included in this flip is a gourmet cafe where they can pretty much order food at any time they want (not sure if it's free like Google's though - whose offices, by the way, we also envy), unfinished walls, and a retro charm that's undeniably "cool" in this day and age.

What do you guys think? Too cool for school or just the right amount?

Thanks for catching the typo, Anne_sol!

i like the way it's furnished... definitely better than office that i've worked at in the past!

Great post. It's "whose offices" in the second to last paragraph by the way.

What, no track bike valet? Bad form, Facebook. Bad form.

Looks pretty amazing until you get to the skate park. It's right about there where it crosses the "too cool for school" line. Not that I'd mind working in a place like that :)

That's great. Now if they could just figure out how to make actual real money they'd be golden!

Do you prefer retro office with open station or still prefer your privacy in the old school cubical..

Well, if they are trying to entice their employees to work all the time this will probably do the trick.

I wonder if that is a plan for making a profit on the board in the conference room? Maybe making money isn't important as long as you keep losing it in such a cool office.
