apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Umm... This Office's Manager Will be Stopping Off at Staples Tomorrow

And this is why it's nice to work from home. Not only are you not a victim of any postal behavior, other than your own, if you decide to go nuts you have to think twice since you'll be the one shelling out the dough to get a new computer, monitor, keyboard, desks...

Maybe he just found out the office was going to be redesigned by Karim Rashid. We'd be pissed too.

ohmygod. yes, i'm so glad to work from home, too! while i've never had a really bad work environment, nor an uncontrollable rage, i've dreamt of doing just what that guy did. um, but it was just a dream! just a dream...just a dream...

i think its embarrassing it took so long for someone to subdue him...i can't believe how many people were just standing around watching.

I think it is unwise to jump in there when someone is behaving in that fashion. It's a sure recipe for getting hurt. As long as he's only hurting equipment (which he'll have to pay for later, I'm sure), it's best to let the rage play out.

I had a friend in college who jumped into an argument between a man and a woman. He tried to get the man to calm down as he seemed to be growing increasingly agitated toward his girlfriend. My friend was stabbed in the neck and died. In the end, his killer was seen as acting in self defense because the girlfriend supported the boyfriend's assertion that my friend was too aggressive (he was not).

It's never good to try and subdue an angry person unless they're hurting someone else.

If you watch the video carefully, you'll notice that none of the thrown monitors are plugged in. Faked? Probably.
