Stark Minimalists: Paola & James in Williamsburg

111008_an_paola_james.jpgPaola Kudacki is a fashion photographer and James Penfold is a librarian. Though their jobs may differ greatly, their style is absolutely on point. Using a slick, modern credenza to hold all of their electronics from view and, nothing is in view except the bare necessities - a brawny lookin' Pioneer plasma screen, an IR receiver, and a set of audiophile speakers to complete the set. Oh, and we like those Kanye West glasses on the left, too.

111008_an_paola_james4.jpgEven the Bang & Olufsen just screams class and minimalism. With it, they control their television, radio, DVR, and console electronics with just one switch of a button. Kind of like the Logitech universal remotes, but much slicker looking.

111008_an_paola_james2.jpg111008_an_paola_james3.jpgThough their kitchen looks like there's never been a meal cooked in it, little details bring to life of what could be one of the cleanest looking lofts we've seen in a long time.

You figure they'd at least give the gay porn a rest for the photoshoot.

You don't think a man's nice brawny chest is artsy? You don't know what you're missing!

Chest hair really shows off the HD and high contrast.

The pictures shown here look minimalist. Well, they look like parts of an unoccupied dwelling by and large, but the entire collection shows there are some pretty busy areas with collections and books.

The whole place just strikes me as trying way too hard to be cool. That doesn't make it uninteresting, but it does make it pretentious IMO.

Woof. Wouldn't a *true* minimalist shave, though?

re: "Even the Bang & Olufsen just screams class..."

Hilarious. But maybe that's what Orchid is talking about.
