Hot or Not? Genelec's Mini Computer Speaker System

052908_sz_genelecspeaker.jpgDesigned by Harri Koskinen, he's imagined kitchenware for iittala and MUJI, lighting for Design House Stockholm, and packaging for Finlandia, the Finnish designer also dabbles with speakers for Genelec. His latest is the compact 6010A computer sound system.

The mini speakers (7 1/8"x4 3/4"x4 1/2") feature 12-watt amps for both the bass and treble drivers and can be paired with Koskinen's 40-watt 5040A subwoofer (9.8"x12").

Available in Fall of '08.

I voted hot. Not for the color or design but b/c I know how great these monitors sound. My buddy has them in his studio and the difference between my Event and M-Audio monitors and his Genelacs makes me green with envy. I want want want. BUT they cost cost cost. I believe his were around a grand each (granted their for pro audio situations). I would think these will be much more expensive than other speakers intended for desktops.
