While Aaron at ATNY was admiring reader Lasse's moveable pendant lights, we were struck by Lasse's use of obsolete Apple desktops as cabinet tchotchke. We wondered, is it cool to display defunct (and historical) gadgets as conversational pieces?
What do you think?

i'm helping a friend with her office organization process and i sent her a link to that post with this office picture because her husband also has old apples stuffed away and i totally think it would look awesome out and displayed on top of the expedit i've convinced them to buy...wee! definitely hot! :)

I love old computers, especially the Mac Classics. I've got two which get a lot of (positive) comments, plus I've recently bought a Mac Cube which is a work of art.

I think it looks awesome and regret not commenting about it in the original post...it's what I was first drawn to.
A Cube is absolutely going to be worked into my decor at some point.

If you've got the room, do it.

Some people use old typewriters as decorative objects and people are impressed by them. Why not old Macs?

Eh, i'm not a fan of macs *that* old, but I do have one of the old, colored, iMac shells that I plan putting a fish bowl in someday :)
