Stickers On Your Laptop?

042109_rg_laptop_stickers_01.jpgA lot of people try to customize their laptops in different ways. The reason is that they want to make their products unique. Sometimes this is well done and other times, it's a bit of an eyesore. The resulting laptop will always be very visible and particular. But this made us wonder: are stickers hot or not?

012109_rg_engravedeee_01.jpgAre you the type of person that has stickers on your laptop? Have you covered your lid completely with stickers? Or are you the type that has to keep your laptop like new, the same way it came out of the box? In between these two extremes, there is naturally a middle ground. There are also all these other options that are available, from laser engraving to laser etchings.

042109_rg_laptop_stickers_02.jpgIt's safe to say that stickers remain the cheapest option, if not always the prettiest. Personally, I've never used stickers on my laptops, but then again, I see a lot of people at the university with stickers on their laptops. From time to time, I'll see one person who has completely covered their laptop. Transforming your PC into a Mac thanks to a sticker isn't hot, that's a definite. Either you have a Mac or you don't. One way or the other, if you are looking for a really easy way to customize your laptop, and you aren't afraid of covering it with stickers, you should go ahead and stick away. I love the look of a collage of stickers on just about anything, but I would but it on a shell case. I don't think I could ever bring myself to smother my computer directly in stickers.

I don't think I could slap-tag my macbook!! I did it to my other laptop and it came out nice. It all depends on the type of sticker as well.

I couldn't do it either unless it was on something I could easily remove without having to worry about sticker residue.

stickers look great on a notebook but the mess left behind isn't much to be desired. stickers aren't permanent and when they come off they'll either leave a sticky residue or scrapings.

What if you're running a hackintosh and stick a mac sticker on your laptop. . . Still not hot? Frankly, I'd be drooling.

I have the teak cover from iamhuman.com on my MBP - customization, but can still bring it in to a business meeting. Very happy with it.

if i were in high school, i'd rock stickers for sure. but i'm in my mid 20's and try to keep mine looking just like new. only thing i've put on my MBP is invisible shield (only on the bottom)

Cheers,
M

I don't personally have any, I enjoy a well done collage, but I moan if one comes out in the store because they're nearly impossible to remove (they shred if you try to pull them up and chemicals just remove the color from them).

I have a 7inch EEEpc. Therefore...it's usually only one sticker at a time...or fake tattoo...or sometimes I have somewhere print me a sticker from a photo or favorite wallpaper.
I have collected stickers and fake tats out of machines for years now, and am grateful to have a neat place to display them.
Goo-gone is my best friend...it removes all traces of sticker goop and tattoo residue.
My laptop currently sports a robot decal I found at a dollar store...but my favorite remains the "Don't Panic" sticker I had printed. I gotta get me a new one of those...
