BlackBerry App Turns Your Cell Into a Flashlight

110309_tf_blackberryflash1.jpgAs if we weren't already missing the flash on our now-broken Blackberry for it's main function, now we figure our that there's an app that can make it useful around the house, too...

The built-in still and motion camera on your Blackberry has, as we're sure you've noticed, a built-in flash. The Flashlight One Touch App from the Blackberry App World takes advantage of that super-bright light and lets you use it as an all-purpose flashlight. Perfect for when that Ikea screw from the table you're assembling just happens to roll under the couch.

The App, once installed, will allow you to choose a "Video Light" setting in your video camera menu which keeps the light on without recording any frames. When you exit the camera, the light shuts off. It couldn't be easier!

The Flashlight One Touch App is available as a trial run for free or in a full version for $3 from the Blackberry App World.

I use the video light all the time on my bb. It's brighter than half the flashlights I own. Awesome unintended feature.
