DIY Laptop Desk

A little cutting goes a long way. We have seen the Offi overlap tray before, so what about a budget conscious Ikea hacked version? A $19 Ikea Benjamin stool and a saw creates a simple and functional bent plywood laptop stand for a fraction of the cost. Your thighs and neck will thank you.

Genius!

I'm sure you could cut this one to whatever height you'd like. Granted, for $10 more I think I'd rather go with the CB2 one, but I don't see those on CraigsList every day like I do the Benjamins.

Great hack - and I might even try it at an angle.

my one concern is the heat generated by the laptop and the surface not being perforated...overheating?

well, you could perforate it with a drill in a nice pattern, like this person did--but not embroider it: benjamin stool
