Instructables.com user gate shows us a hip way to recycle something we’ve all got sitting near our computers into a small planter perfect for the windowsill. Gate made a simple mod of those drum cases that our CDs come in and ended up with a cheap and easy-on-the-eyes windowsill planter. Recyclo-bot decal optional.

okay, those look really silly to me! i could see using the CD spindle to hold tape, ribbons, bracelets? but i am so not feelin' the planter look!

If you don't like the clear plastic look on the outside, cover it with some colored contact paper or self adhesive wallpaper for a designer look.
