How To...Make Your Own Screen Protector

2008-12-13-screenprotector2.jpgWith some packing tape, a bit of soapy water and a lot of patience, you can protect the screen of any of your gadgets.

The process is pretty simple, cut a square of tape that's slightly larger than your screen, soak in soapy water and apply. You'll need to use a credit card or another flat object to squeegee out the excess water, and then carefully trim for a close fit.

Check out the full tutorial over on Instructables, where the author claims their first protector lasted over a year.

clever! I wish I had just left the protector on mine when I got it.

what i've done is just look for some screen protectors to some type of device that is discontinued or clearanced, etc. I picked up a 12 pack of screen protectors to a really old palm pilot no one uses anymore for like $3. now i just cut them to size.
