Use a Paper Clip and Only One Battery to Power a Remote

This project is for the small segment of people who (a) are missing batteries, (b) are too lazy to walk to the TV and (c) aren't lazy enough to sit out on this MacGyver project.

Even though it will reduce the range of your remote, connecting the empty battery terminals with a bent paperclip will still power your remote. A great save in those critical moments! Check out the video below from Metacafe:
