ICFF 2009: Floppy Disk CDRs

052609_sz_cd.jpg
icff-2009.jpg We're kind of suckers for anything that references our childhood experience with computers. Floppy disks are one of those things. It brings back all memories of working on Pascal in elementary school and playing Oregon Trail in junior high. This is why we were so keen on these CDs made to look like floppy disks.

Designed by Polish and Israeli friends Klementyna, Monika and Zosia, who make up Baba Akcja, the 200 MB disks can be burned and played using any computer with a CD tray. We like the idea of making a floppy mixtape for a crush.

You can get them for $14 a piece via designboom.

Love it! I totally remember buying a hole puncher with a square guide to "double" the single sided dual density floppy disks. It made a square notch to fool the "disk drive". What's a disk drive?
