The fact that a site like this exists shows that either there are a lot people out there that can't handle new technology or product manufacturers care more about getting their products out the door than supporting it once it is out there. I'm going with the latter. I have had one too many long and frustrating tech support calls and have pretty much given up on actually trying to talk to someone when I have a problem.
Fixya.com: Help Yourself to Some Tech Support
It seems that Best Buy and Geeksquad see self help support as the way forward and have just announced a partnership with Fixya. With Fixya, the idea is that you can seek out a solution to your problem or help someone solve a problem you have come across before. While many manufacturers now have some sort of community forum or support pages that do exactly this, as Fixya grows it could potentially become a one stop gadget support site. If you still can't find what you need, and actually talking to someone is the only way out, the Geeksquad techs are still a phone call away.
