Christoph Niemann writes the blog "Abstract City" for the New York Times. He often uses his illustrations in his posts to make observations about life, whether it be his kids' obsession with the New York subway system or his love/hate relationship with coffee. Niemann and his wife, who moved to Berlin from NY, recently remodeled their bathroom. In true artistic form they decided their tile work couldn't just brighten up the space, it had to make visitors stop in their tracks.
Niemann's dream was to create a pixelated work of art using the 4-by-4 inch tile squares. After much debate as to what would work, the two decided to recreate Andy Warhol's Brillo box in the shower. While the finished project is way cool, it's Niemann's renderings of what could have been that are hilarious...
