Most of us don't have the luxury of a huge backyard for barbecuing, let alone room for an entire outdoor theater. This poolside theater in Orlando, Florida features a 300 inch screen and concealed sound system.

My setup is so simple and ghetto compared to the above. I have a huge rooftop deck where I occasionally have outdoor movie nights when it's warm: drag out the ancient projector, pull white fitted sheet from bed and hang it up the trellis, drag out long holiday extension cords, attached projector to decent ipod speakers & laptop.

I wouldn't be too down on your setup. With your method, you don't have to have bulky stuff laying around all the time. I'd simply be happy if I had a place where I could set up movie night :)
