We Love the Eighties Edition

021309_sz_80sbedroom.jpg It's easy to think that integrating technology into your home décor is a new thing, but people have been trying their hand at it for decades. Desire to Inspire has posted some great 80s photos from the book Making the Most of Bedrooms & Bathrooms by Mary Gilliatt, Orbis Publishing, London, 1983, which you'd think would be cringe-worthy but actually quite inspiring...

021309_sz_80soffice.jpg As we all know, the 80s were all about color, and these rooms prove just that. But while the designer of these rooms could have gone crazy with hues, instead they kept things simple by picking one standout color for the majority of the items in the room and then one or two others sprinkled throughout. And while we may all think we were the first to think to use a tea cart as a tech caddy, looky here!

021309_sz_80soffice2.jpg While this room doesn't have a bulky television or massive computer, can't you almost see a current laptop on that little white table? That red phone reminds us of this matching red laptop.

Note the Adam Ant record in the center bookshelf in the first photo. Totally '80s.
