apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Inspiration: Living In The Chocolate Factory

031609_an_old_chocolate.jpgIt's not everyday you see an old chocolate factory converted into a comfortable living space. However, that's exactly what Fullexs did when he found the perfect space in an abandoned Swedish chocolate factory near a shopping center downtown. Catering to his inner technology geek, he made sure to incorporate a dedicated sound system that incorporated 2 zones that switched from 5.1 to back-only, in order to make the most out of a home theater system that also doubled as desktop stereo monitors. More after the jump...

031609_an_old_chocolate3.jpgA shot of the beautiful back-lit effect from the kitchen. The stainless steel Miele appliances add a modern industrial glimmer to the space. Fullexs speaks out about his space:

"The images were taken after the apartment was completed in November 2006. This is my first apartment so all the furniture is purchased new, so it looks a bit impersonal.

[Also], the ceiling is 3.5 m and is barrel vaulted that provided the feel of the 1800s when it was a factory. Do you think that helps improve the sound?"

031609_an_old_chocolate5.jpgAs for his gaming/interactive lifestyle solution? A mix of yin and yang; Sony Playstation 3 60GB and a Nintendo Wii.

031609_an_old_chocolate4.jpgLast but not least, it's not a renovation unless you show off the before and after pictures - so here they are.
