I'd be worried about heat, with no ventilation out of that footstool. And the harddrive is just floating free in there, a recipe for harddrive failure.

Still a neat idea, if a less than ideal implementation.

Yes, heat would be a concern of mine too....maybe something like acoustic fabric (speaker grill type stuff) could provide enough ventilation while still hiding the components.
