In the age of glass, particle board, and laminate desks, we sometimes forget the beauty of real wood. We've covered how to warm up an office before, but this time we're taking a look at IKEA's NORDEN kitchen table as a prime candidate for our home office desk.
People are always complaining about how little room they have on their desk to work. With a kitchen table fit to seat at least six, those kinds of people will surely be short out of excuses. Additionally, the nice wooden bar that runs below the desk makes a great footrest!

I recently bought an Ikea Galant for my desk. They are as big or as small as you want them to be. The combination I got is almost exactly like this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19807564, but in the typical Ikea brown. Its a great desk. Not as good as the Effectivs they used to sell (nowhere near as sturdy and much more difficult to put together) but then its probably about a third of the cost. I have room for everything plus extra space to think.

Hey! That was my idea first! ^_^ But seriously, I've been thinking about this for a while now, if only I had money and a nearby Ikea! The closest one is over the canadian bored about an hour! Then its hell getting back! But since I dont have that option, I simply took my old desk from home and slapped my desk top on top of it. It looks a little akward, but neat too in its own akward kinda way! Ultimately though, I've always wanted to have two saw horses and an old door for my work space!

I'm actually fine with my IKEA Jerker, but this sounds rather awesome too!
