Identify Colors with the iPhone: cliqcliq Colors

102208cliqcliqcolors1.jpgColour inspiration can come almost anywhere, at any time. Checking out new sneakers at the local kicks shop (sneaker designs are some of the best colour inspiration sources), hiking out in nature (nobody beats Mother Nature in the field of offering complimentary colours and spectrum) or even at a friend's place (just don't make it obvious you're about to steal their ideas). But taking note or being able to identify the colour for later reference and use can be tough unless you carry around a swatch book and a notebook. That's where cliqcliq's new iPhone app, Colors comes into play, a helpful home decorators mobile tool...

102208cliqcliqcolors2.jpgcliqcliq Colors allows you to identify exact colours via images downloaded or even captured by your camera, especially useful when you're at your local paint shop and trying to put together a colour palette (many paint shops can work from converted values of RGB to CMYK colours, though Colors doesn't provide this conversion tool yet). The $2.99 app works with bot the iPhone and iPod Touch, and allows for users to save multiple colour palettes of up to 12 colours each, email the palette in text, aco, ase, and bmp formats, automatic colour extraction from photos from your iPhone (!), and conversion between RGB, HSB and grayscale formats. Now if only Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams
