iPhone LEGO Dock: It's Not A Toy, Honest!

010809_an_lego_dock.jpgThose seeking a cheap iPhone dock may consider digging into their childhood bins (or kids' toy section) for some LEGO building blocks to create a one-of-a-kind iPhone dock. We agree it does look like the weight of the phone may just cause it to tumble over, but nothing a bit of creativity can't fix. Let's take a closer look, shall we?

010809_an_lego_dock2.jpgA closer look at the finished product shows that it is indeed possible to keep it standing without tipping. Nonetheless, a bit of glue to the base with added weight may help alleviate the possibility of your precious phone slamming headfirst into your desk.

The full set of instructions can be found over here. Don't worry about the Italian - instructions are in the universal language of LEGO and should be easily understood if you've seen a LEGO building diagram before.

I like this because it will work with all iPods/iPhones even if they're in a protective case. The only thing missing is audio out.

Anyone know why nobody sells a dock with the full complement of outputs but with an adjustable thickness setting?
