Titanium Iphone Concept: Just Like a MacBook Pro

022609_rg_titaniumiphone_02.jpgIf you think about it, you can imagine that the iPhone is very MacBook-like for the moment. Does that mean that Apple will expand these product lines to include Nano and Pro models? To us, this would be a logical step. This would enable power-users to get more powerful devices and would expand Apple's market share, especially if they would introduce a lower-priced model. This concept is just like the new MacBook Pros. It's trying to give you the ultimate in phones. Does it succeed?

022609_rg_titaniumiphone_01.jpgWe were perusing our feeds when we came upon this post from Cyanatrendland. We've already blogged about some of the other iPhone concepts that are included in this post. Some of them are good, others are far fetched. Even so, they can show us what the future phones will look like.

022609_rg_titaniumiphone_03.jpgThe iPhone Titanium concept was designed by Jim Young. He includes a bunch of features that users have been wanting for a long time, such as a secondary iChat camera for video chats, OLED screen, 32GB storage, video capable and a 3.2MP camera. There are more features that people would like, but some of these would most definitely get the ball rolling. The one thing that is distinctive is that the case is made from a metal, kind of like the MacBook Pros. Young would like to use titanium, but that would be pretty expensive. The new iPhone will include an even better interface. That's what we've learned from MacWorld, since the touch-based navigation has trickled down to the MacBooks. Storage and the like will also expand, that's pretty normal. We'd like see some ports, like a microSD card slot and a mini USB port. Now that would really be nifty. a video-capable iPhone would be a welcome change, though titanium rather than aluminum is a little over the top. i like the design, though i wonder how sturdy an aluminum iPhone would really be, judging by the multiple dents my MBP has taken on. overall, i'd expect a few of the features in this concept to come to fruition in the next rollout.

Slide out keyboard would be a requirement for anything that they would consider a "pro" phone.

No reason it can't be super-thin with the keyboard, but I think most people would take a bit of thickness for battery life also.

Videochatting on AT&T 3g? Laughable at best. I think we will have to wait out another standards war between WiMAX and LTE for a while before seeing any potential videoconferencing.

MicroSD? Just stick more storage in the thing.

I'd like a Varioptic liquid lens too.
