Handmade Keyboard: Leather = Luxury?

2008_06_16 leather keyboard.jpgAt least I'm assuming that's why you would want a leather keyboard. Especially one wthout letters on it. While I appreciate the feel and quality of a fine leather portfolio, can't say that this really evokes the same sort of feeling.

An ode to Japanese simplicity or utter stupidity? What do you say?

It's beautiful. Didn't anybody else have one of those typing teachers who sanded all the letters off the keys?

I'm a transcriptionist by trade, so no letters is fine by me. And typing on leather sounds a lot nicer than typing on plastic. I want one!

The blank keys idea may be adopted from Das Keyboard:

it seems to be overkill to me... wouldn't you have to build a regular keyboard, then glue on leather bits on top of it?

matchbook, your reasons are sound and i never thought about the typing teachers and transcriptionists of the world! :)

now, i'd be fine in the QWERTY department, but i wouldn't remember where CTRL and {}[] and the F5 (refresh!) buttons are. would you? really?

i'm impressed in advance :)

Ctrl I could do. Brackets definitely. Finding F5 might be harder. And I would need one with a 10-key number pad. But I still want leather keys!
