Coway WM06 Converts Leftovers Into Powder

Coway's WM06 Food Waste Processor recently won an honourable mention in the annual Red Dot design awards, in the category of product design. The box looks like a fashionable PC, but in fact what it actually performs is the drying and pulverization of food waste matter into non-smelly powder, which we'd expect would be compost/garden friendly...

This food waste processor offers an innovative method of clean disposal. Within a few hours leftovers are dried and pulverised. As a result, low-volume waste in form of powder is obtained; proliferation of bacteria and smells is avoided. The curved front silhouette demonstrates a striking form language. Cover and corpus are available in trend colours. To reduce the size of the device the back is designed narrower than the front.

The Coway WM06 is yet to be released, but plans for a release in Korea seem likely before a US domestic release (we occasionally find Coway air purifiers and humidifiers in nearby Los Angeles Koreatown, but otherwise recommend checking out their website for future news), as this new model seems to be an update of the WM05-A and WM03 models that provide similar 80-90% volume reduction through drying and heat pulverization
