LED Silverware: Some Things Are Best Left Analog

Really? I mean, we love tech as much as the next blog... but when is it time to say 'that's enough'? We're wiring up the most unnecessary products and putting LEDs on everything imaginable. Next in line? Apparently, there's something wrong with your fork: It's not high-tech enough.

We're not sure if this is supposed to be some attempt at a romantic atmosphere just in time for Valentine's day, but this concept seems sort of silly to us.

David Veldkamp's lightWARE cutlery is made of silver (fine there...), crystal (alright too...) and LED lights (Wait, huh?).

At the end of its hollow, crystal body is a removable silver cap that is home to a replaceable, colored LED powered by a tiny watch battery. You know, to light up the delicate crystal body of fork and knife and make you feel like a techie king sitting at your techie throne eating your high-tech steak. The steak? Yeah they're gonna put LEDs in that too, soon enough. Just watch. Sigh.

Uh, that is analog. Actually I'm not even sure I'd call it analog - the term mostly being related to signals, not a battery powering an LED - but it's sure not "digital."
