The Fall Tea Kettle Concept by Yuki Hirayama

The weather here in Los Angeles is anything but autumn-like, but from what we've heard, most everywhere else is feeling the chill of fall. That means switching from iced tea to a nice cuppa of whatever leaf that suits you palate. Connoisseurs picky about their tea usually prefer loose leaf to bags, but brewing a perfect cup can be tough for a beginner. Yuki Hirayama's Fall Tea Kettle Concept tries to simplify the art of making the perfect cup of tea...

Though the design looks hi-tech, the actual idea behind it is fairly simple. A transparent kettle allows the user to watch as the leaves release their flavour while a heating element below slips most suggestively at the bottom of the kettle to increase temperature. When the brew has darkened enough, simply remove the tea strainer from above and enjoy a job well done with some butter cookies (our afternoon tea preference).
