There are obviously more than 10 keys here so why designer Ippei Matsumoto decided to call this the 10 key calculator is beyond me. What is nice about this though is that it can function as a standalone calculator when unplugged and an add on number pad when plugged into the USB port. For those laptop users that deal with numbers a lot, a dedicated number pad is a much nicer option than trying to fumble with the numbers overlaid on the keys.

Ten-key refers to the numbers between 0-9. I think that's just the traditional term for a calculator that isn't scientific or graphing.
Either way, that's a great idea. I often miss the 10-key of my desktop computer when I'm using my laptop. It also seems designed to coordinate with Apple products.
