Kensington Joins Docking Station Boat, Sans Wireless

If Toshiba's Wireless U docking station seemed a bit out of reach at $300, perhaps Kensington HD Universal Docking Station may sound like a better fit for all you budget desktop conversion aficionados out there. Priced at half the price of the Toshiba's offering, you still get all of the features, just without the convenience of wireless docking (replaced by a single USB powered cable). Compared to the Toshiba Wireless U, you'll also get more pixels (up to 2048 x 1152 pixels) powered by Kensington's own DisplayLink DL-195USB graphics processor. This is great for netbook owners out there as not a single bit of your on-board graphics card memory will be used.

The dock is compatible with nearly all PC notebook brands out there, including: Acer®, Asus®, Compaq®, Dell®, Gateway®, HP®, IBM®, Lenovo®, Sony®, Toshiba® and more. There's also no need for any CD installation as everything is hardware-based. Hence, a true "plug-n-play" experience, as they like to call it.

For $149.99 (K33926US), you can get your extended notebook HD experience on for a fairly reasonable price. If you're willing to sacrifice Ethernet connectivity, you can get it for even cheaper at $129.99 (K33930US).
