Microsoft Arc Mouse Gets a Color Update

031109_tf_micarc1.jpgI'm gonna give you a little insight into my world. Remember the post about what colors you tend to choose for your gadgets? I answered gray and silver. Every once in awhile, I'll add black. Daring, I know. But I do have some white gadgets—and some pink—so I go out of the box every once in awhile. But if you're not color-phobic with your gadgets like me, you will be happy to hear the news that Microsoft is releasing their Arc Mouse in four new special edition colors...

Do you remember the 10th night of September? (Try not humming that, we dare you) We first told you that Microsoft was creating these wickedly compact folding mouse designs, but they were only available in black and red for $60. Bad news for anyone who has a silver or white computer and likes to match their peripherals.

But good news is here in the form of extended color choices and—thank you!—a price cut!

The new Microsoft Arc mouse is available right now in your choice of frost white, eggplant purple, deep olive green and marine blue for $49.95.

That should appease your picky color tastes for awhile, won't it? Oh, right... still no silver. Sigh.

If they were made out of a sort of translucent plastic (or just silver), I just might be able to pull it off, but that solid color and plasticky plastic look kills it for me. It wouldn't fit in with anything else I own. Maybe it's just the hi-res photo on the site.

Cool design though. Wonder how comfortable they are.
