As I prepare to get on a plane....again, I have been noticing more and more of these airport security friendly laptop cases. These are TSA approved cases just like we have TSA approved luggage locks and the point is that you no longer have to go through the hassle of removing your laptop from you bag and risk scratching it....or worse, losing it.
Because it is designed to open up like a book, technically the laptop is now visible enough while going through the scanning machine. Since this won't be available until October, we can't ask if anyone has had first hand experience clearing security successfully with it. But what do you think? Confusion waiting to happen or smooth sailing through security?

No, that won't work. I always travel with my laptop, and security personnel are adamant that it has to be by itself in a bin. Nothing under it or on top of it.
